Our members are interested in all kinds of activities!

The list below represents just a FEW of the fun things we do. With so many regular monthly activities to choose from, as well as special events and impromptu diversions, chances are you will always find an activity you enjoy. Membership in Nanaimo Newcomers’ Club definitely has its rewards!

STACK TEAM APP

In 2025, our club adopted an app call the STACK TEAM APP that lets you easily discover all our club activities and choose the ones that pique their interest. You'll also be able to RSVP to activities and events, chat with others in each activity, and get all the club info you need! Once you join our club, you'll receive access to the STACK TEAM APP and all its benefits. And don't worry, we offer support to new members to help you easily access and navigate the app.

Book Clubs

Our members appear to love book clubs! We have four groups. Our club "Anything Goes" lets you read any book you choose!

Coffee and Chat

Meet once a month at a local café to discover new friends, socialize, and share information about various Nanaimo events/locations/shops etc.

Card Making

Learn how to make your own cards for any occasion! It is a fun afternoon and all supplies are provided.

Walking or Hiking

We have three groups, so one is sure to match your interests and fitness level. No better way to exercise, meet new friends, and explore beautiful areas around Nanaimo!

Wine Tasting

Explore wines from various countries paired with an appetizer. We take turns hosting - the host chooses the country/type of wine. It is great fun and a way to try wines you never thought to buy!

Euchre

Flex your mental muscles and share in this great game with some new friends!

Happy Hour

Meet with new-found friends; there is no better way to get to know each other than at happy hour!

Dining

NNC club offers outings for lunch, drinks and appies (can bring your partner!), and dining in where we choose a food theme for the evening at a member's home.

Music

Nanaimo has music concerts and festivals all year round with hundreds of talented musicians. Join us for a night on the town....or a day in the park.....there is music everywhere!

Pickleball

Bring your racquet and a ball and join our group. We play Friday mornings, weather permitting!

Outdoor Swimming

During the summer months, a group of us get together regularly to enjoy the many beautiful swimming beaches in the Nanaimo area and take a dip!
