HELLO AND WELCOME TO NANAIMO!

Like all of us at Nanaimo Newcomers’ Club, not long ago, I was brand new to this beautiful city, so I know it can be a little overwhelming finding your way in a new place – especially when it comes to finding ‘your people.’ 

That’s where Nanaimo Newcomers’ Club comes in. 

We are a women-only club that offers activities and social events to help you meet new friends and become a part of our beautiful mid-Island community.

Our club tagline is “creating community through connection”—and that’s just what we aim to do.

Driven by members’ interests, we offer a wide variety of activities—both indoor and outdoor—ranging from hiking, pickleball, or golf, to games, book clubs, shared meals, and outings with new friends. We’re completely volunteer-driven, so we’re always keen for members to bring forward new ideas for activities you’d like to see.
 

Eligibility for membership is open to women who have moved to the Nanaimo area within the past three years, or who have experienced a significant life-changing event (such as becoming widowed or divorced) during that same time period. 

We meet monthly for our Club Social on the first Tuesday evening of each month, from September through June. Our socials are a great opportunity to connect with other members, find out about club activities, learn something new about your community, and have some fun!
